Katy Lush:
Katy, owner of Chicago River North Pilates, is a Pilates instructor fully certified in the Physical Mind Method. A dancer and retired pre-Olympic gymnast, she was fortunate to have been exposed to mind-body fitness at a young age. After graduating from Texas Christian University with a BFA in Ballet, she went on to a career as a professional dancer in New York City. In 2002, Katy’s career shifted to mind-body fitness and went on to receive her Pilates training from the well renowned studio Movements Afoot in NYC. While there, she studied Pilates, Anatomy, Bartinieff Fundamentals, Physio-Ball Method, and Yoga from Lesley Powell (founder), Doris Pasteleur Hall and Sue Monti. In November, Katy became fully certified as a Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis level 1 instructor from Juliu Horvath the creator of the Gyrotonic Expansion System. Recently, Katy was certified as a Pilates teacher trainer from the Physicalmind Institute.

Kari Ball:
Kari Ball received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from Southern Illinois University in 1996. After performing in numerous children’s shows, her interests turned to her second passion: health and fitness. She became certified as an aerobic instructor in 2001 and a Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor in 2003. Her emphasis is conditioning the body to promote uniform development of all muscle groups, flexibility and skeletal alignment. In her training using a combination of weights and Pilates, Kari focuses on the quality of each exercise. She applies the six basic principals of stabilization, control, concentration, efficiency of movement, full range of motion, and breath. Using these principals, clients will reach challenges in their bodies more effectively, as well as create ways to deal with life’s physical and emotional stresses

Kelly Cooper:

Kelly Cooper, a born and raised Texan from Dallas, is enjoying her new life in Chicago. However, it was
in her beloved New York City where she was first introduced to Pilates and immediately fell in love with the form. After graduating from Marymount Manhattan College with a B.A. in Acting and a minor in Music and Dance, Kelly studied private Pilates sessions at Sal Anthony Movement Salon for three years. During that time she continued her lifelong pursuit of a career in the arts, which eventually pointed her to opportunities in Chicago. Kelly relocated to Chicago in 2003 and began her certification with The Physicalmind Institute in 2004.
